Parents can now monitor and manage the time their children spend watching TV and playing Video Games.

Block Help

Blocks on the BOB Timer require the master pin holder to set a time that they do NOT want their child to use the device attached to the BOB Timer.

Regular Blocking

Example: If your child has a habit of staying up late to play games or watch TV (often after parents go to bed), you may want to block the times from 8:00pm to 8:00am the next day.

The BOB Timer blocks should look something like this:

Block #1 Start = 12:00am

Block #1 Stop = 08:00am

Block #2 Start = 08:00pm

Block #2 Stop = 11:59pm

Days Blocked = Monday – Friday

This will block the time between 8:00pm – 8:00am the next day and allow your child to use their allotted allowance time from 8:01am – 7:59pm before the BOB Timer shuts down the device.

Weekend/Weekday Different Block or Allowance Times

If you want to have different blocks for school days (weekdays) than for non-school days (weekends), then you will need to follow the directions below.

You will need to assign two different PIN numbers to a single user if you want to have separate block and allowance times for weekdays and weekends.  Some parents do this because of school, allowing less time on devices during school days, and more during non-school days.

 Ex. Weekday PIN:

Block #1 Start = 12:00am

Block #1 Stop = 08:00am

Block #2 Start = 08:00pm

Block #2 Stop = 11:59pm

Block #1 & Block #2 Days = Monday – Friday

Block #3 Start = 12:00am

Block #3 Stop = 11:59pm

Block #3 Days = Saturday – Sunday

This will block out 8:00pm – 8:00am every weekday and completely block weekend days.  This is ideal for setting a different allowance time for your child during weekdays, and blocking the weekend days entirely.

Next, you will want to make a separate pin for weekend use:

Ex. Weekend PIN:

Block #1 Start = 12:00am

Block #1 Stop = 06:00am

Block #2 Start = 10:00pm

Block #2 Stop = 11:59pm

Block #1 & Block #2 Days = Saturday – Sunday

Block #3 Start = 12:00am

Block #3 Stop = 11:59pm

Block #3 Days = Monday – Friday

This will block out 10:00pm – 6:00am every weekend day and completely block weekdays.  This is ideal for setting a different allowance time for your child during weekends, and blocking the weekdays entirely.
